Avantamine™ for Topical Treatments

Unleash the power of Chlorine, without the issue of corrosion or safety.

Mimicking our bodies own defense against pathogens, topical treatments containing Avantamine are more effective for both bacterial and fungal infections, as well as their biofilms. Our biocompatible, gentler form of chlorine is less toxic, defying the efficacy-safety tradeoff. And, with no resistance generation, using Avantamine topical treatments means we can save antibiotics for when we need them the most.


We are developing treatments for wound care (chronic and acute), fungal infections (ringworm, athlete's foot, etc), and bacterial infections (MRSA, impetigo) among other indications.

Avantamine™ for Medical Devices

Medical device materials and coatings that provide long term protection against pathogens and biofilm.

Avantamine plastics and coatings for medical devices not only protect devices from pathogens and biofilms, but they also provide antifouling chemistries to make medical devices easier to clean. And with the ability to hold chlorine on the surface for months, devices can stay protected for longer periods of time. Unlike other materials that only offer “static” protection, Avantamine materials can provide bactericidal, fungicidal, and virucidal efficacy, with better biocompatibility than “static” solutions.

Avantamine™ for Disinfection

Not only high-level disinfection, but residual disinfection.

Strong enough to be a High-Level Disinfectant for medical devices, yet gentle enough to disinfect a baby’s changing table, Avantamine disinfectants are a non-corrosive, less irritating form of chlorine that can be used anywhere. Effective wet or dry, Avantamine disinfectants can also provide residual protection against bacteria, viruses, fungi, mold, and their biofilms.

Avantamine™ for Surface Protection

One added step before disinfecting can significantly extend surface protection. 

Avantamine can be blended into a variety of materials to create products and coatings that create antimicrobial and anti-biofilm surfaces.  These Avantamine enabled surfaces can hold chlorine for up to a month, providing biocidal, fungicidal, and virucidal protection. Avantamine enabled surfaces also contain chemistries that are antifouling, making cleaning easier and disrupting biofilm formation. Avantamine is the only approach, except copper-based paint, to make human health claims for antimicrobial surfaces (bacteria, virus, fungi).

Superior Defense Against Pathogens

We created the only spray-based product to pass the EPA protocol with a 99.9% pathogen reduction

In March of 2022, the EPA published data on tests of 20 antimicrobial coating products¹, and none of the spray-based products retained the required potency after being subjected to a simulation of a weeks worth of wear in service. 


In contrast, AvantGuard247 is able to withstand a month’s worth of simulated wear, achieving a 99.9% pathogen reduction and is the only spray-on product that has passed the EPA testing for any length of time.
