AvantGuard 1stAid

Antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-adhesion wound dressings

Antimicrobial protection where it's needed most.

AvantGuard 1stAid encompasses a collection of products that incorporate our core chemistries to enable the next generation of wound care. Our first product is an antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-adhesion wound dressing. The most common antimicrobial material used in wound dressings is silver.  We have done extensive testing compared to silver using the ESKAPE group of organisms and found that AvantGuard 1stAid is significantly better at reducing pathogen levels than silver.

Safer care starts with AvantGuard 1stAid

Higher Efficacy.
Better Biocompatibility.

We have AvantGuard 1stAid products in “wet” and “dry” form.  The “wet” versions incorporate antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-adhesion chemistries into a hydrogel to maintain moisture in the wound bed.  The “dry” versions incorporate antimicrobial, anti-inflammatory, anti-adhesion chemistries into woven materials, i.e., bandages, and can include hemostatic agents and other chemistries as needed.

We have received significant support from the US Army for the development of these products and have been an xTechSearch 2.0 Finalist as well as recipient of a Small Business Innovative Research award.
